Josh and Annette Galloway are a husband-and-wife team based in Cheney, Kansas just outside of Wichita who have found one of the greatest joys of their life in quilting together.
Annette has been sewing and quilting for decades. She made her first quilt in 1977 to welcome her newborn son and has had a love for the craft ever since. For many years, she worked in sales while also teaching piano on the side. In 2002, she suffered a major stroke that changed the course of her life, but not her spirit. Through strength, faith, and determination, she regained her ability to speak and eventually returned to teaching piano—still sharing her music with others today.
Josh’s path was different. He spent years in fast-paced, high-responsibility jobs—managing restaurants, working in emergency medicine, and later leading operations in the retail world. After more than a decade in corporate leadership, he stepped away to find a better work-life balance and to pursue something more meaningful and creative.
Quilting entered Josh’s life through the couple’s involvement with the Provident Hearts Foundation, a nonprofit founded to support people in crisis. What began as a way to serve others soon became a shared passion and a new chapter for them both. In the spring of 2025, they bought their first longarm quilting machine, and everything changed.
—something they never expected would bring so much joy. They’ve finished quilts for each of their six children and ten grandchildren, and even one for their first great-grandchild. They’ve also donated dozens of quilts to charities including Provident Hearts and the Prairie Quilt Guild, where they now serve in the guild’s charitable quilting efforts.
Their work is creative, collaborative, and full of heart. Josh, with a background in art, has a special talent for choosing quilting patterns that bring each quilt to life—often pulling shapes and themes from the fabric itself to find just the right design. Annette brings a calm, thoughtful presence and a deep love for the process of quilting from start to finish.
What they love most is finishing quilts for others—especially those who’ve poured their time, love, and story into each quilt top. Whether it’s a cherished family gift, a donation for a NICU baby or burn center patient, or simply a project someone wants to see come to life, Josh and Annette treat every quilt with care and respect.
Quilting, for them, isn’t just a business—it’s a shared creative journey, a way to connect with people, and a daily reminder of how beautiful life can be when it’s stitched together with love.
